(Ava) – A West Plains man has been charged in a shooting incident that occurred December 22 in the Mark Twain National Forest.
20-year-old Bryan Wake was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault with Serious Injury, Armed Criminal Action, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Interfering with Hunting.
Court documents allege that Wake fired on a group of hunters in Mark Twain National Forest in Douglas County, striking a man, identified as Gary Pace, in the leg. Wake allegedly then fled the scene and disposed of the rifle.
Wake was picked up a while later and the gun was recovered. Wake was charged and held in the Douglas County Jail in Ava on $250,000 bond.
