(Mountain Home) – An autistic teenager missing in the Ozark National Forest in Baxter County since Thursday evening has been found.

18-year-old Jay Greer Jr. of Lone Rock was located at around 7 PM Friday evening by a search crew with the United States Forestry Service. He was found in a heavily wooded and rugged area approximately 2.5 miles from where his abandoned vehicle was discovered Friday morning on Brush Creek Road near Advance.

Members of the search crew were able to bring Greer out of the woods to a waiting Sheriff’s vehicle on Brush Creek Road. From there, he was transported to a waiting ambulance on Push Mountain Road. Authorities say Greer was cold, wet, and hungry but otherwise unharmed.

He was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

Greer was reported missing by his father around 9:18 AM Friday morning.
