(Jefferson City) – Representatives with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources say that a boil water order issued to the city of Van Buren has been lifted.
Department officials lifted the order Monday after no coliform bacteria were found in the water samples taken on February 23 and 24. Additionally, testing for chlorine residuals showed that the city had an acceptable amount of chlorine in the water distribution system.
Department officials declared the order after E. coli bacteria was found in a water sample collected February 22. The distribution system was found at that time to have no chlorine residuals, as well.
