(West Plains) – Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative (HOEC) officials say they continue to restore power following Thursday’s ice storm in south central Missouri.
At the height of the storm HOEC officials reported just over 3800 members of the cooperative without power. Ice on tree limbs coming from outside of the cooperative right of ways and high winds were the main cause of power outages from the storm. At 4 PM Friday, the cooperative reported there were 142 members without power.
The cooperative has contracted crew members and all HOEC crews currently working to restore power. Areas where members remain without power include Alton, Winona, Couch and South of West Plains. The areas crews are working contain very rough terrain which will result in restoration taking more time.
If you need to report a power outage you may access the cooperative website, from a smartphone or a computer, at www.hoecoop.org and click on “report an outage”, or call 417-256-2131 or toll free 1-888-463-7693. If all lines are busy, every voice message is heard and your outage will be recorded.
