(West Plains) – Fourth grade students from West Plains Elementary School recently visited the team at Ozarks Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center to show appreciation for the impact the staff has on patients and the community. Pictured are the students from the classes of Leigh Spencer and Kelly Davis along with OMC Cancer Treatment Center physicians, nurses and staff at the Shaw Medical Building. The students created handmade cards for the staff and gave out bowls and bags of pasta.

The event was arranged by Hannah Gough, an FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) student at West Plains High School. The project was part of the FCCLA’s regional STAR Event (Students Taking Action with Recognition), which recognizes members for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

Gough’s presentation was for the National Programs in Action division and her focus was child development.
