(West Plains) – Former 151st District State Representative Ward Franz of West Plains has been named the new Executive Director of the Ozarks Medical Center Foundation, according to a news release from OMC.
He will join the Foundation at the beginning of January 2013, and is responsible for developing strategies to build OMC’s philanthropic and community profile to augment the Foundation endowment fund.
OMC President and CEO David Zechman says that Ward was chosen because of his deep ties to this community, and his support of OMC while a representative.
Franz recently completed four terms as the Missouri State Representative for the 151st District, serving the region from 2004 to 2012.
During his time as a state representative, Franz served as the Chairman of the Family Services Committee from 2006 to 2008 and the General Laws Committee from 2010 to 2012. He was elected by the House of Representatives to serve as Caucus Chairman in 2006 to 2008. He also served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee on Public Employee Retirement from 2006 to 2012.
Franz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Baptist University and a Masters of Art from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, he was Vice President of Sales for Franz Foods and served as Deputy Juvenile Officer for the 37th Judicial Circuit.
