Home destroyed in Friday morning fire near Caulfield

West Plains, Mo. – A Friday morning fire destroyed a home in eastern Ozark County. Emergency crews responded to a trailer house fire at 5:30 a.m. Friday morning on V Highway, roughly four miles west of Caulfield.

When the Caulfield Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the fire, the building was fully engulfed. All occupants got out of the house but one was transported from the scene by ambulance for possible smoke inhalation. Two dogs were still missing when fire personnel cleared the scene at 1 p.m. The home and its contents are a complete lose. Caulfield fire was able to locate a dresser full of old photographs that were removed and are salvageable.

Assisting with the fire were the Bakersfield Fire Department and Tecumseh Fire Department.
